Vuk Jeremi膰 ( []; Former President [], United Nations General Assembly) will deliver a lecture which will be followed by a question and answer session.

H.E. Mr Vuk Jeremi膰 is President of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD) and Editor-in-Chief of Horizons. He is a Professor of Practice at the Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs, where he is teaching a full graduate course 鈥淚ntroduction to Contemporary Geopolitics鈥.

In 2016, Mr Jeremi膰 participated in the official election for UN Secretary-General. After six rounds of voting in the UN Security Council, he finished the race in second place, behind Mr Antonio Guterres. He was the first-ever candidate to put forth a detailed policy platform to be implemented upon his election. Entitled 鈥淪trengthening the United Nations in the 21st Century: A Platform for Action and Impact鈥, it contained 53 specific and concrete commitments on how to reform the UN.

In June 2012, Mr Jeremi膰 was directly elected by the majority of world鈥檚 nations to be the President of the sixty-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly, in the first contested vote since the end of the Cold War.

Mr Jeremi膰 served as Serbia鈥檚 Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2007 to 2012. In 2007, he chaired the Council of Europe鈥檚 Committee of Ministers.

Mr Jeremi膰 has lectured at major universities and published opinion pieces in leading international outlets including New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Times, Financial Times, Washington Post, and Le Monde.

Prior to becoming Foreign Minister, Mr Jeremi膰 served as an advisor to the President of Serbia and various government ministries.

Mr Jeremi膰 holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in physics from Cambridge University and a master鈥檚 degree in Public Administration/International Development from Harvard University鈥檚 John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Mr Jeremi膰 was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He is also a member of the Columbia University Earth Institute - UN SDSN Advisory Group on International Relations and the High-level Steering Committee of the UN Global Compact 鈥淪ustainable Infrastructure for the Belt and Road Initiative to Accelerate the SDGs鈥 Action Platform.

Mr Jeremi膰 served as President of the Serbian Tennis Federation from 2011 to 2015.
